Traditionally we eat brown, pinto or black beans, but we add flavour to them too: brown with a hint of chipotle, brown with cheese, black with chorizo, etc. They tinned versions are very tasty and quite quick, just open the tin and heat it in the microwave; a quick fix for the busy household.
