Bean & Goats Cheese Tamales...

I spend a lot of time reading about food. It's what I like doing the most; yet, when I sat down to write this particular post, I realised most of what I know about Tamales was from either the stories my mother and grandma had or from general common knowledge. I decided to research a little bit more about it, what I found out really surprised me! For example, did you know that the oldest records place tamales as far back as 1200 BC in Mayan paintings?!

Day of the Dead 2013...

As some of you know, I was plagued the last couple of months with a very bad dose of the flu that became a very serious chest infection. On doctor's orders, I did very little and rested a lot. There was just so much day time telly one can watch and my energy levels were quite low to do much else; Alan took care of the shop, his work and myself. I felt quite guilty, but there wasn't much I could do about it other than taking my medicine and rest. When I finally got better, there was a pile of things to do, a huge amount of events to go to and I had little or no time to do much else.

Easter Egg Crisis! - Part II

Ok, if you haven't read last night's very late posting, , please do it now (otherwise I'm going to sound like a deranged woman to you on this post). Done it? great! so by now you know that I stupidly forgot to buy Easter Eggs for the Forans, that they don't take nicely to people forgetting Easter Eggs and you have learned of my cunning plan to avoid in laws' utter damnation.
