Let's face it, being Coeliac really sucks! It is very difficult to eat out safely and most of the things I love, like bread and pasta, are sort of out of bounds. Thank God, I am not Coeliac, but I have a lot of friends who are and they have opened my eyes to the plight of the intolerance. Whenever I cook for my workshops I always cater for that, so it occurred to me that I should really do one Coeliac dedicated workshop!
So, if you happen to be Coeliac and with a flare for Mexican cooking, this is the workshop for you! We'll show you how to make corn tortillas and 3 taco fillings, also a nice home-made salsa to go with that. We'll also sit down to a gluten free meal at the end with all the lovely stuff we make. Join us at Picado Mexican Pantry for an enjoyable evening out. Bring an apron, an empty tummy and let us show you the ways of the children of the corn!
Disclaimer: While Mexican food is surprisingly quite Coeliac friendly and a lot of the products we'll be using are coealic certified or naturally gluten free fresh ones, my demo kitchen is not Coeliac certified, so I must include a disclaimer on that regard. We will be using designated pans and pots and we will scrub the kitchen top to bottom to avoid any cross contamination, but it's good for you to know and then you can make your own decision! :)
