Coping...

I know a lot about stress and coping and making the best of what hand is dealt to you.. I learned it at a very young age. When I was seven years old, I went through a very traumatic situation that miraculously only scared me in small ways. I don't talk about it and very few people beside my own family know it... and I'm fine with that. I don't want to remember it, I was immensely lucky and I survived it.

A New Home...

A Mexican Cook in Ireland has moved! I've been meaning to make the move for quite a while, but between the full-time job and the business, there has been very limited time and money to get anything else done. The blog suffered a few minor changes and I grew impatient with the platform I was using and the limitations it offered.

Big News...

I thought long and hard about this posting... stared at the blank page for a long time. I've been wanting to tell you all for weeks about this, but I couldn't. I've been bursting with excitment for a month and I had to keep it under wraps. This was a real killer for me, but we had agreed to wait till it was all official and that was that! The last week was torture, but now that it's all done and official, I simply don't know how to go about to tell you! So, I'm going to spit it out plain and simple:

Another Wednesday...

This post is going to be an odd one. It is way over due, it should have been posted on the 21st of March. On the first day of spring, yet as many of you know, my mother fell suddenly very ill in Mexico that week and it's been a hell of a month since. She's recovering well now, thank God, but the worry filled my days and weeks and the anxiety of being so far away and helpless added to it. So please forgive me for posting this now. It was written then, but life took over...

Farewell to John...

I met John in college nearly eleven years ago. We were both mature students: so awkward amongst all those seventeen year olds who hung around the campus, so out of place and a little lost. It was no surprise that we were sort of drawn to each other. Within a week we were hanging out between classes, exchanging ideas and chatting and laughing at our misfortunes in the classroom, trying to cope with assignments, exams and giving out about lecturers. Life in college was good because he was there. We were inseparable in college and once we finished, we remained friends ever since.
