These pickled whole serrano chilies are delicious and widely used in Mexico. They come with slices of carrots and onions that give the pickle vinegar its original flavour. The Serrano chilies are grown in 'la sierra' (the mountains) hence their name. They are one of the most common chilies and are widely available in Mexico, where they are eaten both fresh and pickled. Slightly hotter than a regular Jalapeño pepper, they are delicious in pico de gallo and over hot dogs! We particularly love them with pickled potatoes! Delicious and spicy!
